Ah, Thursday. My favorite day of the week... really. Okay, that was sarcasm. Salli's Thursday Schedule: 8:00 a.m.: Alarm goes off. Salli ignores it. 8:09: Having already hit snooze twice, the fog begins to lift and it occurs to Salli that she ought to get out of bed. 8:17: Salli gets up, stumbles to her desk, hits the "on" button on her computer, and stares at it for a while. 8:20: Salli has a sore throat. But she doesn't have any water to make tea with. The problem is soon remedied, but Salli nearly creates a new one by spilling her tea all over the floor. Fortunately, she's awake enough by now to prevent this from happening. 8:52: It occurs to Salli that she might want to get dressed. 9:04: Salli leaves for her 9:10 guitar lesson, equiped with instrument, books, cough drops, coat, scarf, gloves, and... ah, yes, a hat would be nice. 10:06: Having returned from her guitar lesson, Salli checks to see if anything meaningful has happened at the Forest in the last hour. It hasn't. 10:25: Salli fills her travel mug with coffee in the dining hall. (There are only six other people there, perhaps because they're not exactly serving breakfast anymore.) 10:27: Salli climbs up to the newspaper office in the tower. After locating the CD with digital photos for the website (in the last place she looks), she logs in and discovers that someone left sections of the paper open so that she cannot access them. Again. (Fun and excitement ensues. Salli gets to turn on every computer to see which one has programs running.) 11:56: Having put all the text online, and begun forwarding, Salli descends from the tower and heads to lunch. 12:02: Salli has lunch at the political science table, but she doesn't say much. (Sore throat. Lack of knowledge about latest hopeful for the Democratic presidential nomination. Preoccupation with afternoon work.) 12:48: Enough of that. Salli returns to her room. 1:09: Salli finishes writing list of what she's done today. Exciting, isn't it? Pretty much every Thursday is like this...
